The challenges Pluq faced

Pluq, a company that fully invests in EV charging station installations at high-traffic locations, faced significant challenges in scaling internationally. Despite offering innovative energy management solutions for venues like supermarkets, shopping centers, and hotels, they struggled with a shortage of staff necessary to support their growth.

Additionally, Pluq lacked key industry connections, crucial for unlocking new business opportunities. To meet their expansion goals, they urgently needed to fill both Inside Sales Account Manager and Outside Sales Account Manager roles. These professionals were critical not only for growing their client base and securing more contracts but also for managing customer relationships and driving business development, both internally and in the field. Without them, expanding into new markets and maintaining long-term partnerships became increasingly difficult.

Strategies implemented

To help Pluq tackle the challenges of international expansion, we implemented a straightforward yet effective recruitment strategy. We began by headhunting top candidates specifically for roles in the hospitality and real estate sectors. At the same time, we launched targeted job marketing campaigns in key areas across the Netherlands and Belgium to reach the right talent.

We also made full use of our job board to attract a wide range of qualified candidates, ensuring Pluq had a strong pool to choose from. Additionally, our network in the renewable energy sector helped us connect with the right experts, enabling Pluq to quickly and effectively build a strong, cross-border team.

TIMELINE: From initial contact to achieved results

June 17th 2024 - Onboarding

The collaboration between Owlie and Pluq was officially formalized on June 17th, establishing a strong foundation for the strategic recruitment process ahead.

July 16th - First candidate introductions

We introduced the first Account Manager to Pluq, marking the beginning of our efforts to bring in top-tier talent. In total, we presented 20 candidates to meet their business requirements.

July 26th - Final placements

Over the next two weeks, we successfully completed the recruitment process by placing four additional key hires, effectively rounding out Pluq's team and positioning them for continued success.
